When I first read this, I read “chaising” for chasing. My crazy eyesight got into a funny neihgborhood this time and I laughed. Then I read the poem as meant, and I love it, because it says so much about this season – being outside, sitting and enjoying the weather, evading the heat, the feeling of sitting in the shade with a breeze – I could go on and on. This one really opened a window of sensation for me.

It’s so hot and humid these days that a little shade is always welcomed. I wish the breeze was kinder. 🙂

Today was sweltering! Hoping for the thunderstorms they’re forecasting.

Me too! I see the cloud formations, but no relief yet.

Thank you :)) I like that alternative reading…I could have created a new verb for chaise (chair) activity.

All of the above…it was definitely a shadow chasing day. (K)
