I like this tanka, Janice. Love the photo, too. Did you take it?
May 2024 be the start of another glorious year of haiku and tanka for you.

PS. Since you are into natural world, you might want to consider checking out Season Words.com (formerly known by NaturalistWeekly.com) by Mark Scott, who combines seasonal haiku with natural phenomenon based on a calendar of 72 “seasons.”
I’m happy you like the tanka Nan. I took the photo on a recent morning walk with my dog. I’ve found the sun extra special lately as we’ve been seeing so little of it. Thanks for the nudge towards SeasonWords.com. I’ll take a look 🙂 I hope 2024 brings you ongoing happiness and success in your life and your writing. Cheers! Janice
A beautiful Tanka and image Janice . There is much optimism in both. Great to hear you are out with a dog. I must see if I can find a post with the pup.
Three Janice. You are very committed. How do you share all their needs equally? You are obviously a very caring dog person and maybe have an equally committed family to help.
Sharing needs equally is a challenge. Fortunately with respect to walking two have physical limitations and the most energetic one is very small so as the walker I can keep up to their needs. I think two dogs may be optimum (canine companionship) …our third dog came to us from a friend who could no longer care for him and we couldn’t find a suitable alternative placement. No regrets :))

Thank you, Denis. I find myself walking each of our three dogs these days… each has their own pace and needs.

Wonderful support for your friend and the pup. And the upside is more exercise for you as well.
