Another Skinny poem. Something about this form attracts me.
Invasive species is a useful biological concept. My poem is related but not just ‘about’ it.
An invasive species is a non-native species … whose introduction causes or is likely to cause economic harm, environmental harm, or harm to human health. The term “invasive” is used for the most aggressive species. These species grow and reproduce rapidly, causing major disturbance to the areas in which they are present.
How fascinating, I must admit I haven’t read Skinny poems before. Yes, the adjectives do echo and can be used in several situations that came to mind. Thank you Janice
Also thanks for your like if my “baby” new post.

Thanks for dropping by and letting me know about your launch post. I came across the Skinny form on WordPress at the link below the poem. It looks simple but holds much possibility… so I try it out now and then.

Oh, skinny poems seem wickedly hard to write and kudos for you – a natural and love this one. Yikes, we should all watch out for the invasive!

Thank you Annika. There’s a focus about a shorter poem that I enjoy … though I do want to explore longer lines as well.

Some would consider Man to be an invasive species.

That did occur to me 😉

I like skinny poems but didn’t realize it’s an actual form 😊 You used it effectively!

A wonderful poem with such a clear message Janice. To me it sums up our property developers. They are a most serious environmental destroyer.

For sure about those property developers ready to gobble up green spaces. Thanks Denis.

I always think the centering also works well, as does the repetition. Seemingly simple, but very effective.

Yes, the repetition in this form is growing on me.

Repetition is good. We learn how to handle it and it becomes a great poetic tool.
