We had some hail that sparkled briefly.
More sparkle on children’s faces…
I do remember tinsel being a big part of holidays past.
Lovely memories.

Tinsel garlands are still part of Christmas decorations here… fortunately those individual strands like icicles have been discontinued…

Tinsel seems to epitomise everything that is crass about Christmas. We still toss it about…

Yes … I was hoping those silver tinsel strands had faded out of the picture… but there is always some toxic glitter litter it seems…they called out bath beads and now I’m seeing more and more lose glitter stuff everywhere… on things and included in packaging…they’ll show up in birds and fishes unfortunately…

At least we have never thrown any away. I took the garlands from work about twenty-five years ago when they were throwing out the Christmas decorations. We’re still using it. I have never actually bought any of the stuff.

I have old tinsel garlands too…the tinsel I was moaning about are the strands, like thin foil threads, intended to look like icicles that we threw on trees when I was growing up…I don’t remember if they were reused … but even so some stayed stuck to the tree and the carpet etc

Oh, I remember those. Nope, never had any. I thought they looked like a mess. The kind of decoration a cat would dream up.
