Martha Magenta — moth dust

moth dust
a smudge of moon
through drifting clouds

 ~Martha Magenta
Blithe Spirit vol 29 number 3 August 2019 ISSN 1353-3320

As a tribute to Martha Magenta, an accomplished poet who died last month, Frank Tassone’s Haikai Challenge invites us to choose one of her poems and then write one of our own. A Martha Magenta selection is above and my own haiku, below:

stardust – – haibun

What word is there for this…a sorrow for someone known only through their poems?

‘Poet loss’…the silencing of a flow, a voice, that inspires awe and delight.

Last January we lost Rachel Sutcliffe. This January, Martha Magenta.

.

stardust

forever

their poems

the ones not known

still in their hearts
