My name is Janice.  I started blogging as Ontheland when I moved from Toronto to a rural area near Kingston, Ontario in Canada.  Over time I have found myself writing poetry, mostly in Japanese forms, such as haiku and haibun.  One of my deepest interests is the natural world: the joy of it and how we can look after it better.

  1. You are not alone in this, Janice. We awoke to it covering the ground, and it’s still snowing here as well. Almost white out conditions, but I suspect tomorrow will see it gone. I hope.

    1. Thanks nan. Snow is not unheard of in April but after the warm spells we’ve had it was amusing to suddenly see snow falling on April Fool’s Day … it felt like a prank 😉
