My name is Janice.  I started blogging as Ontheland when I moved from Toronto to a rural area near Kingston, Ontario in Canada.  Over time I have found myself writing poetry, mostly in Japanese forms, such as haiku and haibun.  One of my deepest interests is the natural world: the joy of it and how we can look after it better.

    1. Our neighbours had a live band fest on their land a week ago. As much as I support the spirit of it all , the bass sounds were intrusive (aka LOUD) at times. Our dogs will go into a frenzy over a pin drop so to see them sleeping through this new barrage of sound was quite interesting.

      1. That is interesting about the dogs. Our cat does the same thing. If a car outside has a booming bass, he goes to the basement if it goes on any longer than a minute or two, which sometimes it does when a person is waiting in the car for one of our neighbors.
