cavorting by the house

A little projection going on 🙂 I saw the cricket alone on the basement sill when I was outside where hoards of other crickets were leaping around the foundation walls…so I imagined that he wished to be outside as well.

You know it’s getting cooler when the wildlife starts to find its way indoors.

“A cohort of crickets” wonderful phrase. They do get around this time of year. The back field is seething with them, all running out of the way of the mower, even though the blade is too high to touch them.
