The August full moon is sometimes called ‘Sturgeon Moon’. The sturgeon is an ancient species of fish that is endangered in some habitats. They have many unique features such as no teeth, armour instead of scales and cartilage instead of bones.

I love this one. The two images, moon and fish, separately and merged, shifting as I read and reread.

Thank you, Claudia. Last year I felt stumped by sturgeon moon but this year my inner processes, the moody weather and another skimming of sturgeon write ups stirred up my imagination.
