I drive by rigid trees cased with ice. I feel the weight on their limbs, the pending risk of breakage. There is no magic sparkle of sunlight to mask their imprisoned state. And on the News I hear of dark skies filled with smoke…Australia’s burning bush.

Your contrast tghrough 3 lines of haiku is genius. Your image is stunning Janice. The fires are now raging in our state of Victoria. Climate change is screaming to the world through our dried out forests and our government looks away in idealogical ignorance.

The refusal of governments to recognize the scientific predictions about climate change as they unfold before our eyes is tragic.

I have a feeling People Power may win that battle in Australia in 2020. Our government is coming under siege with these fires.
