For a child an excruciatingly long wait … then the pure delight of the flip! Your food haiku is making me hungry – just as well I’m about to sit down for breakfast! 😀
Thank you Annika. Yes, watching for those bubbles could be like waiting for a pot to boil. (Unlike a child chef or a patient chef I flit around the kitchen while I wait) I think I might make some pancakes now 🙂
When I was in America as a young adult I stayed with a family and fell for the mother’s pancakes! After my first effusive praise and delight we had these most mornings! 😀 Yummy!! 😋
Wonderful memories 🙂 When I was growing up pancakes showed up on special occasions: Shrove Tuesday (aka Pancake Day) and when we went away on summer holidays. I learned about watching for bubbles in the batter in Home Economics class at school (I do remember some of what I learned back then 😉
may I share your haiku, via a reblog? good one, this!
