Our backyard brook, which is really just 10 or so feet from our back door, is finally settling down. Falling asleep to the noise of it at night, I could swear I hear words and voices. It’s no wonder the ancient Greeks used to think there were spirits in the water.

It’s astonishing the difference in vegetation. To me, that looks like winter. Yours will be a leisurely spring; ours will be over in a couple of weeks 😦

Yes our spring is slower…in the deciduous tree behind the house the buds are finally visibly swelling…

I posted some photos yesterday of the meadow on the west side of our house. The difference is striking. Only one variety of maple is still in bud, the leaves of the rest are all either fully or partially open.
