My name is Janice.  I started blogging as Ontheland when I moved from Toronto to a rural area near Kingston, Ontario in Canada.  Over time I have found myself writing poetry, mostly in Japanese forms, such as haiku and haibun.  One of my deepest interests is the natural world: the joy of it and how we can look after it better.

  1. Mentally …spot on. However in our part of the real world, in this corner of the UK we are wondering just when winter is arriving !. OK is dark, its damp and certainly not warm, but neither is it what we used to recognise as winter 🙂

  2. Yes ‘winter zone’ only brings you into the Northern Hemisphere and within that there is much diversity. New Year here came with more crisp cold and the powdered stuff … as implied…glad you caught the ‘mental’ part. 🙂
