Many thanks to Annika Perry who recently wrote two etherees and invited others to give it a try. This is a reverse etheree with the following syllables-per-line count: 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. Recently I told Annika that I am not doing syllabic poems these days (other than Japanese forms) but I’m finding myself going through a kind of ‘phase’ lately and thought I would give the form a try.

This weekend is Thanksgiving Weekend in Canada, with Thanksgiving Day being on Monday.

    1. Thank you so much Pat. Happy Thanksgiving wishes to you. We travelled today in the direction of Ottawa and saw some brilliant reds and yellows…probably more maples than around here…

        suddenly, like within a blink, things went a bit colourful but still on the dull end, to all colours blazing! but many of the trees have already thinned themselves for the stress of the summer, so it’s not as dense as it has been in other seasons …. still, it is rather stunning for the watching. 🙂

  2. Janice, I’m happy you are in a ‘phase’ as I love this etheree!! You’ve made this form your own, with your signature style ..l I love it! There is such peace and tranquility and the poem ‘lands’ perfectly on ‘words’! Many thanks to be given for such gifts in life … and also hope you’re having a very special Thanksgiving weekend! 😀
