another parched day
the sky is so so blue
a splash of azure
conjures up contentment
in suffocating heat

A beautiful tanka Janice, I love that ‘splash of azure’! Great to see your vegetables looking so green too 😁💖

Thank you Xenia…the veggies get watered as you probably knew but they will be much happier with rain (and so will I with fewer buckets of water to carry).

We had some rain, but the humidity is back.

Though silver maples aren’t the ones that produce syrup…
Three species of maple trees are predominantly used to produce maple syrup: the sugar maple (Acer saccharum), the black maple (A. nigrum), and the red maple (A. rubrum), because of the high sugar content (roughly two to five percent) in the sap of these species.

…I’ve always liked silver…
(my wedding bands are ‘white’ gold’… )
The best gold is the deep yellows of autumn leaves 😉 and dawns and sunsets… Ahhhh….

Real maple syrup is thin, sweet and so good!
I usually thing of honey as golden. 🙂
