In the dark theatre cheeks caught tears

flowing unquenched sorrow, unsought tears.

Why do you deny human emotion?

Why is water in your eyes not tears?

Meanings read from wet excretions

Morning dew, the cold night brought tears.

Every cell a hidden universe,

oceans hold all, even shallot tears.

Lightning flashes on wedding day

What bridegroom, what bride forgot tears?

Hurricanes drench ontheland, clouds

weep wind-breath, until death boycotts tears.

  1. Janice, I love this poem. You have with such beauty and depth written about the expression of
emotions, both happy and sad and the natural way they want to express themselves.
Your analogies are wonderful. Don’t let us fear our tears.
