Heron

Yesterday I had two encounters with water wildlife:

~

Turtle crosses road

drawn to marsh on other side,

bold explorer

unaware of meteors

hurdling on collision path.

~


Grey statue

comes into focus—

young heron!

rare roadside sight 

wings mutual surprise.

~
