We soar as one

as one we soar.

Squeezed for time, I chose a “Skinny” to join in with dVerse Poets Pub Tuesday Poetics.  Mish invites us to write a poem from the point of view of nature.  I have seen many formations of birds in the sky lately.  Temperatures are still chilly and splotches of snow linger, but the birds are making themselves seen and heard these days.  Thank you to Efraimstochter who donated this bird photo to the public domain.

    1. Thank you Mish. Repetition of lines 2,6, and 10 are an attractive feature of the Skinny form. I find it fascinating how bird flocks maintain lines and other shapes.

  1. In his book of essays, “Old Songs in a New Cafe”, Robert James Waller writes in voice for the leader of a formation of Canadian geese making their way south when his “wing man” is shot. It is touching and beautifully written. You might enjoy it, as I enjoyed your “skinny form”!
