slender trunks
sketch vertical lines… can almost imagine them as a pencil sketch! Lovely.

I love the way the ‘grey venetian clouds’ of the first haiku/stanza are echoed in the ‘vertical lines’ of the last.

The words ‘venetian blinds’ conjured up an image of clouds striped like the slats of blinds!

Yes that’s exactly what I had in mind. I hadn’t noticed that I had went horizontal in the first haiku and then vertical in the next—two recent and separate scenes with a hidden connection 🙂

Your poem reminded me of a story called “Castle neither in the sky nor on earth”, I imagined, while reading, there is someone up there opening a window, to let a little bit of us come into his/her home.
