Breathing comes naturally
(I admit though,
I have been reminded)
Happiness is natural too
but goes missing.
I play hide and seek with it
every day—it’s somewhere…
over the rainbow
or right here,
now with each breath.
A sine qua non—
pervasive, fleeting.

In response to dVerse Poets Pub Quadrille #21–Take a Breath
Breathing goes with happiness like “pervasive” and “fleeting” on the last line.

We do forget to breathe and to find happiness within a present moment. Love the rainbow reference. We look further than we need to sometimes.
