Summer downpour
Thunder growls, flashes descend,
Summer downpour
Seeds burst open, buried dreams soar,
Stale hearts waken, new hopes ascend,
Wily winds blow as time warps bend,
Summer downpour.

Thank you 🙂 there’s a destructive side to a summer storm as well but the demands of 7 lines and rhymes didn’t quite get me there.

Thank you 🙂 we haven’t had much rain this summer either, but when it comes it’s almost like spring again in the plant world.

You capture a summer downpour.
I really like this line: “Seeds burst open, buried dreams soar,”

I love the onomatopoeia in the growling thunder and the alliteration in ‘Wily winds blow as time warps bend,’

Thank you 🙂 I like the word onomatopoeia in itself 🙂
