We can change

Climate, war, hunger

Let’s refocus hearts and minds,

We can change our world.

I am beginning to find that Ronovan’s Haiku Challenge is similar to a Rorschach test (a test in which perceptions of inkblots are analyzed by a psychologist) in that whatever prompt words he gives illuminate what is on my mind.  Climate change is among my top concerns—also including war, poverty, and social injustice—and if you think about it, all of these problems are interconnected. I do believe that each of us can make changes, whether public or private, that can direct us towards peace and away from catastrophic global warming.

The prompt words for Ronovan Writes Haiku Challenge #110 are ‘change’ and ‘mind’.

    1. Yes the door is closing…all the more reason to focus 🙂 …I do believe mankind is at a crossroads and it is hard to know what attitudes, actions or inactions will prevail in the end.

    1. Despair and feelings of helplessness certainly nibble at me but in the end I am not into giving up and as you say, there are many good people in this world (even many of those who don’t show it 😉

  1. If only we could make a better world for the generations to come Janice. Thoughts dear to my heart. I try to stay positive but at times I am troubled deeply by the sadness in this world that we live in. It is the youth that I fear for most, they are the future, and should be encouraged in every way possible to make the world a better place.

    1. Yes it’s important to look beyond our lifetimes as well as taking care of present concerns. It’s so easy to feel powerless but I believe every word and action has an impact..a thought that I find both scary and encouraging.
