I read yesterday that birds appreciate an opportunity to bathe at this time of year, not only to get relief from the heat, but also to spruce up while shedding feathers and acquiring a new look for fall. I remember being schooled by my mother when I was seven. I called her to the yard to see all the “canaries” flying around. Yep, they were finches.

I love that picture! I keep three bird baths in my yard. We get a lot of feathery visitors and I know how hot it can get. They love it. I make sure to change the water often too. Lovely haiku Janice. 😀 xx

Thanks Vashti. I didn’t fully appreciate the importance of bird baths until this weather.. For now I have some bowls out on elevated locations.
