Beyond old farm fence
An unfamiliar sight
wearing a sun hat.

Across the road from our house is a farmer’s field where he sends his cows to graze. Sometimes they stop nearby and I can’t resist taking photos.

Nice thought:) They came over to say hello. I am probably over cautious with them as their fence looks so fragile..I see men repairing it every year.

They tend to be very friendly and are used to humans. Hope the fence stays intact as they can wander quite far once out.

Yes, if I felt more confident about their fencing I would go right up to it but I ‘m concerned that in their eagerness to gather around that the fence could be compromised and an accident could happen if not that day, on another day. I would really love to have a closer visit.

Beautiful Haiku so appropriate. I had pet calves once in another younger life

The calves must have been lovely pets 🙂

They were Janice then my father would sell them for you know what. I am now a non red meat eater.

I can understand that. Having your pets taken away and for that purpose must have been devastating.

Hi Janice,
I was wondering if you would be interested in being part of a “Haiku Hub” I am thinking of setting up on my blog. If you would like to be included just let me know in a reply and I will add your blog to the Hub Page. I am hoping to get as many Haiku writers together to share their writing. In my other life I am a Japanese teacher who has a passion for Japanese poetry and art.

That sounds interesting– thank you for inviting me–yes I would like to be involved…is it basically a listing to facilitate sharing or did you have something else in mind as well?

A listing of fellow Haiku Writers with links to their blogs firstly and then the possibility of some themed or prompted writing or if individual members want to write a post about poetry (haiku) we could add that too. I am happy to get ideas of course. 🙂
