Sailing the wind
on endless ocean wrapped with sky,
sailing the wind,
chasing the sun yearning to find
destiny, so onward we fly,
lithe fish below, birds in the sky
sailing the wind.

This poem is a rondelet in response to Jane Dougherty Poetry Challenge #37. The challenge was to write a rondelet using the above painting and the prompt ‘journey’ as inspiration.
