My father died young,
only sixty-five,
born in 1925.
Dan was born then too,
He died two days ago,
Ninety was his time to go.
Nineteen twenty-five,
That’s when Mom arrived,
to eighty-two she survived.
A life flame goes out,
old losses ignite,
A chasm of years burns bright.
Dan rests in peace with,
Dad and Mom for evermore,
as I shed tears on this shore.

Sorry for your loss Janice. Beautiful poem written from the heart. 1925 is a linking birthdate by the sound of it. My father was born in 1923, my mother in law turns 90 this September. They’re all getting older, (as are we!) such is life. 😦
