Spruce
Couple
intertwined.
Ragged bonsai
pair.
∼
Spruce
Long roots
penetrate,
wend through clay and
rock.
∼
Dusk
paints sky
Sylvan dark
pine silhouettes
stretch.
∼
Branch
shivers,
brittle, cold.
Berries wait for
spring.
∼
∼
Lantern poetry is an interesting form, consisting of only eleven syllables: 1-2-3-4-1, less than a standard haiku (5-7-5), but the same number as a 3-5-3 haiku. For more information about this form, please visit the challenge link on the first line of this post.

Thank you 🙂 I wonder about those two trees at the front of our yard–were they there naturally and the land cleared around them– or were they placed there as a decorative touch. This type of spruce surrounds our house and grows across the road.
