Bridge
crosses
over to
a world unknown,
Life to death
promised
all
born to
flesh on bone.
Yearning to know
what’s in store
past the
veil.

My brief reflection, in the form of a poem, is in response to this week’s poetry challenge by Jane Dougherty:
The challenge this week is to write a short poem on the theme of bridges. You can use the photos as inspiration, or simply your own thoughts about mortality, crossings, and rebirth or not.
Topics such as mortality, crossings, rebirth, and afterlife, are vast. Faced with writing a poem in that zone, I wasn’t sure if I could be brief. After some reflection and jotting, I realized brevity was not a bad idea. Please follow the link above to find more poems on the topic.

Love it. You capture that idea of passing over to a mysterious other side beautifully.

Yes it’s a onetime trip, at least as who we are, so it makes sense to have a good time and be kind to each other 🙂
