Sign of winter–Butterfly cinquain

Frosty morning–November 29, 2015–9:15 AM

Winter

visiting here,

heralded by crystal

grasses shimmering in beams of

morning,

gazing on frosty festival

of brush, united by

season’s sparkling

debut.

I wrote this butterfly cinquain for Jane Dougherty’s Poetry Challenge #8.  It is two cinquain, joined by a shared two-syllable word in the middle.  The syllable count for the 9 lines is: 2-4-6-8-2-8-6-4-2. To read more poems using this form, please click on the challenge link above.
