Refugees: cinquain #3

Refugees,

caught in

bleak killing chaos,

rise with courage, to seek

asylum.

This poem is a five-line ‘cinquain’ prompted by Jane Dougherty’s Poetry Challenge #6. This version of the cinquain form requires counting the words in each line: 1-2-3-4-1.  I decided to deviate from form in the fourth line, using ‘to seek’ rather than ‘seeking’ which would have given the four-word count.  To read other cinquains please visit Jane Dougherty’s post, using the link above.
