In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Creepy.”
I can think of unsettling scenarios that I may come across this week, but whether or not I do, remains to be seen. This evening I had a ‘creepy’ encounter with a swarm of insects dancing in the light on my front porch. I stepped out to put something in the garbage and was surrounded by a multitude of winged insects–not an unusual situation on a summer night, but never pleasant. I imagine them settling in my hair, going up my nostrils, and entering the house as I open and close the door. Yuk! Even though it is a vivid experience, it’s difficult to photograph, as you will see in the gallery below. Many of the bugs are so small and fine that my phone camera fails to detect them. They appear to be flying worms, but in fact, the lines are from the blur of motion. I don’t know if it’s my imagination, but the more I stare at the photos, the more I sense the swarm of insects. The last photo shows one of the larger ones who entered the house and decided to rest on the ceiling– it’s actual size is about 1/2 inch.
